Baba's body will leave the USA on Wednesday, the 11th of December and will reach the Balighai ashram in India some time on Thursday 12th or Friday 13th for burial.
The bhu-samadhi ceremony will occur on Saturday or Sunday the 14th or 15th of December 2002. During this period, for a short time people can come and have the last darshan with Gurudev.
On the 19th of December, the full moon day, as is customary, the feeding of monks from all traditions will occur at the Balighai ashram.

Baba's body arrived safely in Mumbai 12.00 p.m. (EST) and will be flown to Bhubaneswar. The government of Orissa has decided to accord State honors to the body of Paramahamsa Hariharananda at the time of his arrival on Saturday, the 14th of December. Never before has such an honor been bestowed upon a monk.
Baba's body will receive a police escort from the Bhubaneswar airport to the Balighai ashram. In the morning on Sunday, the 15th of December 2002, it will be possible to have darshan with Gurudev. The bhu-samadhi ceremony will take place on Sunday afternoon. The guard of honor will attend the proceedings.

Baba's body arrived in Bhubaneswar at 3.30 a.m. (EST), 2.00 p.m. (IST), where he was greeted by a guard of honor, senior government ministers and officials from the state of Orissa. In addition there were more than one thousand people eagerly waiting at the airport to pay tribute to Baba. Baba's body was escorted from the airport by the police and followed by a convoy of many hundreds of cars.
Since Baba's body arrived in Balighai at 5.30 a.m. (EST), 4.00 p.m. (IST), the ashram has been overflowing with devotees, old disciples, distinguished guests, Baba's monks, and acharyas. The King of Orissa has also come to pay his respects.
The long driveway to the ashram is packed with people awaiting darshan with Baba. More than a thousand people have gathered in the ashram and its vicinity for this very special occasion.
Darshan will probably continue throughout the night and Sunday morning. A time has not yet been given for the bhu-samadhi ceremony, but it will occur sometime Sunday afternoon. Undoubtedly such a warm welcome upon Baba's return to India, after six years, is a tribute to the love and compassion that was and is Paramahamsa Hariharananda.
