Global Mind Change - Protecting the Environment

The 2020 Global Mind Change Interfaith Symposium and consequent global chain meditations aim at bringing into our minds the pressing need to protect our planet; Mother Earth.

Click here The Earth is a Living Being to watch a short video / discourse by Sri Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji, given at the Mother Center in Homestead, Florida. In it he talks about, how this Mother Earth and all that live on it; the plants, trees, people, insects, birds, and animals are all one. And if there is any suffering we should feel that pain and reach out to alleviate it. We as humans are considered the best of creation because we have the ability to be and to become; to make what we want. We have the freedom to create heaven on this earth, if we want, or to convert heaven to hell.

In Guruji's Book 5 of the Art of Living and Giving Series, What Coronavirus Teaches Us, he often talks about the need for all of us to do our part in protecting nature. In this book, Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji says:

"By continuing to expand our land use and encroach on the free and natural surroundings, we have created an air quality crisis that affects our existence. Modern luxurious living with air conditioners and other appliances has increased temperatures everywhere. Plants and trees provide oxygen naturally and consume carbon dioxide. With a decrease in plants and trees, rainfall immediately reduces, which creates droughts and water shortages, crop damage, soil erosion, and other environmental effects."
