About Us

Kriya Vedanta Gurukulam-Temple of Harmony is a non-sectarian place for yoga, meditation, retreat, contemplation, spiritual study, interfaith activities, and selfless community service.  It is dedicated to all the religions of the world, where people of different faiths and cultural backgrounds interested in spiritual growth may come together.

Kriya Vedanta Gurukulam  was founded by Paramahamsa Prajnanananda who is the spiritual successor of Paramahamsa Hariharananda. Paramahamsa Hariharananda(1907-2002), a realized Kriya Yoga master, was a direct disciple of Swami Shriyukteshwar Giri and Paramahamsa Yogananda,  the author of Autobiography of a Yogi. Paramahamsa Hariharananda founded Kriya Yoga International Organizations (KYIO), a worldwide non-profit organization that teaches the ancient science of Kriya Yoga meditation.

Our philosophy is based on the universal teachings of Vedanta and emphasizes the common truth of all religions as taught by the unbroken lineage of Kriya Yoga masters, starting from Mahavatar Babaji Maharaj through to Paramahamsa Hariharananda and Paramahamsa Prajnanananda. Kriya Vedanta Gurukulam is a retreat where one comes to learn and live by basic principles of spiritual life in order to realize lasting inner peace and happiness.

Kriya Vedanta Gurukulam provides a serene and peaceful natural environment with a fruit orchard, tree shades, walking paths, flower garden, and a quiet prayer room for meditation and contemplation.
